We spent Thanksgiving in Florence this year and despite lots of rain we had a great time! We rented an apartment with our friends the Zorichs. It was in the perfect location to explore the museums and all the sites!
Carlie wasn't in the best mood the day we went to the Academia (where Michelangelo's David is located). It is a small little place so - after we saw David and his "bum bum" (in Carlie's words) we were able to get her back to the apartment for a much needed nap.
The next day we visited the Uffizi. Carlie did GREAT she loved looking for all the paintings with a baby Jesus. When she started to get bored Joe felt her pain so they played while I just got to walk around and enjoy! It is funny to think that Carlie will have seen all these famous paintings/sculptures but won't remember a thing!
We took turns with the Zorich's going out - Joe and I had some pretty good Mexi/Spanish food (we've been eating a ton of Italian lately - it was a nice change). We also found this jazz bar with great views for dessert.
It wasn't a traditional Thanksgiving considering we ate a makeshift meal on Elmo plates with plastic forks. But, it was lots of fun with good company and good wine!! We are headed to Austria this weekend, then Minnesota, Colorado and hopefully Vegas soon after. We are also celebrating little Carlie's 2nd birthday this week - crazy, fun times!!!!
