Halloween.....

Carlie wanted to be a mermaid this year but not THE Little Mermaid.  So I ordered a tail from Etsy, made a seashell top and she glued seashells, collected from this summer's beach trips, on a crown and presto!

On our way to "trunk or treating".  My favorite qoute from the night came after I asked Carlie what she was going to do with all her candy and she said she was going to save it for her birthday party to share with all her friends.  What have we done as parents to fail her?  :-)
She took this shot of some of our loot from our favorite pumpkin stand.
About to carve that pumpkin.  She chose the design for her Jack-o-lantern and dad helped her with the cutting.

On Halloween there were no festivities since the base had their "trunk or treat" thing the night before so we made Jack-o-lantern cookies to celebrate.
The owl and the tootsie pop!  I wish I would have been "wiser" and had less prosecco that night :-)!
