Keeping busy.....

This was kind of her first movie because she was actually awake and it was a movie I thought she would enjoy. She liked it - I wouldn't say she LOVED the experience maybe we will try movie time again in a few months.
Our first zucchini harvest (there have beeen many more since this picture). We have also been eating baby spinach from the garden and will soon have tomatoes, beans, peas and hopefully pumpkins in the fall!

Joe is gone for the month of June - we can't wait to welcome him back!! There have been so many Carlie changes while he has been away here are just a few.......
When he left:
diapers
swallowed gum
hated swimming lessons
talking
crazy rolls
Now:
only big girl panties all day and night
gum chewer
LOVES swimming lessons and should graduate as a DG (Distinguished Grad :-)!!
we can actually understand her most of the time!!
somersaulting on her own
I am loving this age every day she surprises me with the new things that she says and does. My mom said this is the age when everyone thinks that they have a "toddler genius" because it is amazing how quickly they are learning - the good thing is we do have a genius!! HEEHEE

This IS a fun age! And your Mom put it so well! Maria Montessori said that from birth to age 6 children have a special kind of intelligence called the absorbent mind because they learn so effortlessly and quickly and enthusiastically, taking in everything they can from their environments. But it's not until about age 3 ( I think around 2 1/2 it really kicks in gear) that the really begin learning with conscious effort. So cool! I'm glad you guys are doing so well!
